Feds: New York City cop plotted with woman to molest her baby — and they recorded it all on Skype
DAVID EDWARDS
30 OCT 2014 AT 11:48 ET
A New York City police officer and a woman from Colorado were indicted this week for conspiring online to molest her 1-year-old child.
Sgt. Alberto Randazzo was arrested last year on charges of using a child in a sexual performance, promoting sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
But new court documents obtained by the New York Daily News describe in detail the shocking 2010 Skype video chats where Keira Norton carries out the sex acts as Randazzo instructs her.
At least 11 Skype video files were recovered by investigators.
It was not clear why the woman agreed to molest her child, according to the Daily News.
Both Randazzo and Norton face up to 15 years in jail if convicted.

Lindsey Graham unfiltered: jokes about white men, Baptists
By Peter Hamby, CNN National Political Reporter
updated 8:07 PM EDT, Wed October 29, 2014
Washington (CNN) -- South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, who is toying with the idea of a presidential bid, joked in a private gathering this month that "white men who are in male-only clubs are going to do great in my presidency," according to an audio recording of his comments provided to CNN.
In the meeting, the Republican also cracked wise about Baptists, saying "they're the ones who drink and don't admit it," a variation of a joke he sometimes tells in public.
Graham's folksy sense of humor and his shoot-from-the-hip style are part of his political appeal, and well-known to journalists and his colleagues in the Senate. But the behind-closed-doors remarks are a departure from the G-rated jokes he tells in public, and another reminder for politicians in the iPhone era that they are rarely far from a microphone, no matter how private the setting.
The audio snippets were provided to CNN on Wednesday by two separate South Carolina Democrats who received the recordings from a person using an anonymous Gmail address. Graham confirmed the recordings in an interview Wednesday with CNN.

Sergeants in the LA Sheriff Dept attempted to lie and arrest FBI agent
Lying to the FBI is a crime, as Sgt. Craig would soon find out. Marx was not "a named suspect in a felony complaint" and Craig knew he could not arrest the FBI agent for her role in the FBI's undercover operation at Men's Central Jail. The FBI sting included smuggling a contraband cell phone into inmate-turned-FBI informant Anthony Brown through a corrupt sheriff's deputy who accepted a cash bribe from an undercover FBI agent.

Chinese Government Censors TV - Big Brother in the living room
REPOST: I thought it may be interesting for some of you that have not lived in a censored country or had your freedom of speech removed, to see how this works in practice with regards to simple things - like watching the news. I am a European living in Mainland China, next to HK. Almost all foreign social media / media is blocked, which leaves us with just a few channels on TV showing international news broadcasts. The feed is delayed a few seconds (as you can see by the mismatch between audio and image); as soon as the TV channel shows something which is contrary to the government policy (i.e. Hong Kong protests, the Dalai Lama, reporting pieces on the wealth of the CCP party leaders) then the feed gets cut, the TV goes black - and bizarrely - we get to watch a loop feed of parries and flowers, with a subtitle that says the 'signal has technical problems'…. The first time this happened to me in a hotel I thought i had inadvertently broken the TV. Now after a few years of no NYT, WSJ, Bloomberg, Reuters, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Google, Gmail (list goes on and on) a dark reality sets in. We can still access some content (like LL) with costly VPNs which slow down our browsing rate, but that is not the issue. The collective society's minds are kept isolated, controlled and confirmative… and that is the gravest problem. When the currently leadership is dead and gone - who knows what their youth of tomorrow - never having been offered the possibility of free thought, will do. This is my first post so take it easy ;) will try to bring you more extreme and crazy clips from China as we go on.

The War On Democracy (John Pilger's documentary)

________________________________________
Documentary
United Kingdom / Australia, 2007
Directed by: John Pilger, Christopher Martin
Producers: Christopher Martin, Wayne Young
Editor: Joe Frost
The film was made with the support of the humanitarian financier Michael Watt.
'The War On Democracy' (2007) was John Pilger's first for cinema. It explores the current and past relationship of Washington with Latin American countries such as Venezuela, Bolivia and Chile.
Using archive footage sourced by Michael Moore's archivist Carl Deal, the film shows how serial US intervention, overt and covert, has toppled a series of legitimate governments in the Latin American region since the 1950s. The democratically elected Chilean government of Salvador Allende, for example, was ousted by a US backed coup in 1973 and replaced by the military dictatorship of General Pinochet. Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador have all been invaded by the United States.
John Pilger interviews several ex-CIA agents who took part in secret campaigns against democratic countries in the region. He investigates the School of the Americas in the US state of Georgia, where Pinochet's torture squads were trained along with tyrants and death squad leaders in Haiti, El Salvador, Brazil and Argentina.
The film unearths the real story behind the attempted overthrow of Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez in 2002 and how the people of the barrios of Caracas rose up to force his return to power.
It also looks at the wider rise of populist governments across South America lead by indigenous leaders intent on loosening the shackles of Washington and a fairer redistribution of the continent's natural wealth.
John Pilger says: "[The film] is about the struggle of people to free themselves from a modern form of slavery". These people, he says, "describe a world not as American presidents like to see it as useful or expendable, they describe the power of courage and humanity among people with next to nothing. They reclaim noble words like democracy, freedom, liberation, justice, and in doing so they are defending the most basic human rights of all of us in a war being waged against all of us."
'The War On Democracy' was a Youngheart Entertainment, Granada and Michael Watt production. It was released in UK cinemas on 15 June 2007 and broadcast on ITV1, 20 August 2007.
